Earl Jessie Lloyd, 80, of Clover, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017. He was born in Halifax County on March 19, 1937, son of the late Jessie James Lloyd and Mary Virginia Lloyd Lloyd and he was a retired tobacco farmer.

Mr. Lloyd is survived by his sisters-in-law, Karen Hier of Clover, Joyce Lloyd and Evelyn Lloyd, both of Nathalie and Giesla Lloyd of Richmond and six nieces and seven nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Plautz, five brothers, Albert Lloyd, James Lloyd, Howard Lloyd, Irvin Lloyd Sr. and Garnett Lloyd Sr. and a sister-in-law, Hazel Lloyd.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. T. Wayne Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday at Powell Funeral Home and other times at 1153 Addie Williams Trail, Clover.
