Earl Thomas Marshall of 1033 Bellevue Road, Halifax died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at The Woodview. Born in Halifax County on April 13, 1922, he was 89 at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William Thomas Marshall and Edna Chaney Marshall and was married to the late Frances Anderson Marshall. He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 8 and was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Marshall is survived by three sons, Ryland Wayne Marshall and wife Cheryl of Columbia, S.C., Bruce Edward Marshall and wife Ann of Brattleboro, Vt., and Dean Thomas Marshall and wife Sara of Halifax, thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Anderson Marshall and a son Ronald Dow Marshall.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9 at 4 p.m. at Dan River Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Visitation will be at the home. On-line condolences may be made at
