Edith Cornelia Holland of 103 Rosehill Drive, South Boston died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on March 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Walter David Satterfield and Mary Elizabeth Forlines Satterfield.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Virginia James of Virgilina; one son, James T. Holland and wife Wanda of Halifax; one grandson, Jason Barnette; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Kayla Barnette; three sisters, Mildred Seamster of Halifax, Eunice Ridgeway and husband Roy of Halifax, and Evelyn Hudson of Glen Allen. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Todd McClure officiating.
