Edward Thomas Miller, 79, of Chase City, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Miller was born Jan. 23, 1939 in Orange, N.J., to the late Ella Ferguson Miller and Edwin Thomas Miller. He received his education at West Side High School in Newark, N.J. and Union County College, Union, N.J. He served four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Miller was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rahway, N.J., and was previously employed as a shift supervisor and account clerk for Grief Brothers & Sons in Carteret, N.J.

Cherishing his memory is his wife, Delores Miller; one sister, Parthenea Gillison; sister-in-law, Gertrude Sands; brothers-in-law, Alfred Thomas, Ronald Thomas, Alvin Thomas (Joyce), Tyree Thomas and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a son, Edward Thomas Miller III; two sisters, Juanita Ford and Lillie Davis, and a brother, Earl Miller.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, with Rev. Linda Goode delivering the eulogy. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Rahway Cemetery, Rahway, N.J.

Public viewing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
