Elisha Henry Hunt

Elisha Henry Hunt Jr., of Clover, died March 22, 2013 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, at the age of 85.

He was born in Halifax County on Nov. 15, 1927, son of Elisha Henry Hunt Sr. and Lillie King Hunt. He was married to the late Irene Goode Hunt and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Hunt is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Hunt Ellison of Richmond; two sons, Elisha “Bubba” Hunt of Oxon Hill, Md., and Eddie Dean Hunt of Atlanta, Ga., two step-children, Nathaniel Goode and Paul Goode; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Listene H. Foster and husband George and Clarise H. Foster, all of Clover; two brothers, John Louis Hunt and wife Nancy of Saxe and Roscoe Hunt and wife Anita of Clover; one aunt, Lucy King Robertson of Clover; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Vernon Hunt and Stanley Hunt; two sisters, Lillian H. Delaware and Lottie King Coleman; two brothers, Alex Hunt and Richard Hunt and two half-brothers, Thee King and Odell King.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Saxe with Rev. James Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 1160 Clover Road, Clover.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
