Elizabeth Harris Boyd

Elizabeth Harris Boyd, 82, of Chase City, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Chase City, April 3, 1935 to the late John and Edna Finch Harris. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County. At an early age she joined Silone Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and assisted with the kitchen committee.

Mrs. Boyd was previously employed by Jonbil.

Cherishing her memories are two children, Peggy A. Tisdale (Furman) of Valdosta, Ga., and Alfred Boyd Jr. of Chase City, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Smith and Renetta Marable, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Boyd Sr.; one sister, Betty Smith, and two brothers, John Harris Jr. and Herman Harris.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, with Rev. Norman Robinson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
