Elizabeth Puckett Stevens, 81, of 1149 Stevens Lane, Halifax, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 20, 1930, daughter of the late Allen Goode Puckett Sr. and Mary Lee Critcher Puckett and was married to the late Walter Louis Stevens. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Stevens Thompson and husband Mike of Oxford, N.C., Tammy Stevens Allen and husband Mike of Hamptonville, N.C., two sons, Tony C. Stevens and wife Darlene of Alton and Terry L. Stevens and wife Theresa of Halifax; two sisters, Phyllis P. Oakley of Oxford, and Jean P. Duncan of Oxford, two brothers, A.G. Puckett Jr. of Clays Mill and Ned A. Puckett of Goldsboro, N.C., eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Allen, Rev. George Gorman and Rev. Glenn Lutz officiating, and eulogy by her grandson, Michael Gene Thompson. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
