Ella Louise Walker Wyatt, 85, of Jewell Street, South Boston, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on June 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter Walker and Louise Obie Walker. She was married to the late Benjamin Wyatt Sr. and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wyatt is survived by eight children, Jasper Wyatt of Richmond, Mary Downing of Durham, N.C., Shirley Turner of South Boston, William Wyatt (Dorothy) of High Point, N.C., Cynthia Gwathney (Joseph) of Raleigh, N.C., Douglas Wyatt (Debra) of Durham, N.C., Ruth Wyatt-Brown of South Boston, Larry Wyatt of South Boston; two adopted daughters, Serita Williams and Inez Wyatt, both of Richmond; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Flossie Lawrence (Larry) of Richmond; two brothers, Samuel Walker (Mary) of Richmond, Jonas Walker of South Boston; a life long friend, Ruth C. Strange and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Wyatt Jr.

A funeral will be held Sunday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Richard Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Saturday, March 10 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5-6 p.m., at Jeffress Funeral Home and other times at 304 Jewell Street, South Boston.
