Ellen T. Harris, of Woodbridge, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. She was born in Halifax County on July 3, 1945, a daughter of the late Cleveland R. Tucker and Louise E. Tucker and was married to the late James Andrew Harris.

Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Andrea L. Harris and Eleanor R. Harris, both of Woodbridge; seven grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren; five sisters, Annie L. Bates, Mattie L. Bates, Mollie A. Tucker, Mamie Y. Irving and Janetta A. Sydnor and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Andrew L. Harris, one sister, Helen Banks and one brother, Cleveland Tucker Jr.

A funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Allen Smith officiating. Burial followed in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing was held Friday from noon-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family received friends at 10 Chalmers Street, South Boston.
