Eloise Nichols Hedderly, 91, of South Boston, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019. She was born in Halifax County on April 29, 1928, daughter of the late Charles T. Nichols Sr. and the late Martha Ann Crews Nichols. She was married to the late Charles Jefferson Hedderly Jr. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Eloise was a beloved local artist of watercolor, pen and ink. She was well known for her local historical artwork. She was a past volunteer at the South Boston-Halifax County Museum.

Ms. Hedderly is survived by her children, Suzanne B. Hedderly of Richmond, Charles Jefferson Hedderly III and wife Georgi of Springfield; her sister, Mary Ann Nichols Perkins and husband Ron of Anderson, S.C., and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings Charlie T. Nichols Jr., Clarice Nichols Whitehead, Sarah Nichols Franklin and one nephew, Preston Whitehead.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, 3:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Rickman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
