Elsie Lenhart Shelton

Elsie Lenhart Shelton, age 86, of Chase City, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. She was born Jan. 21, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, to the late James Carl Lenhart and Elizabeth Johnson Lenhart. 

She was the owner and operator of Village Treat in Chase City for 35 years and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. 

Elsie is survived by her sister, Joan Wilson and husband, Harold; two nieces, Wanda Dixon and husband, Tommie and Tammy Johnson and husband, Mark; one nephew, Jim Wilson and wife, Michelle; and two great-nephews, Josh Wilson and J.T. Johnson and wife, Corinna. 

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Sterling Milton Shelton; and brother, James Carl Lenhart Jr.

A funeral was held Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church. Visitation began one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
