Emma G. Ambrose

Emma G. Ambrose, 92, of South Boston, died April 2, 2017. She was born in Halifax County, a daughter of the late Zachariah Thomas Glasscock and Carrie Lee Davis Glasscock. She was married to the late John Edward Ambrose and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ambrose is survived by two sons, John F. “Skeeter” Ambrose and wife Kathy of Scottsburg, James Edward “Jimmy” Ambrose of Fairfax; one daughter, Joan Carol Dressling and husband Marvin of Powhatan; former daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Seate of Roxboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Christopher Davis of Timberlake, John F. Ambrose Jr. and wife Vanessa of Aberdeen, Md., James M. Ambrose and wife Christina of Powhatan, Joseph O. Ambrose and wife Amanda of Scottsburg; seven great-grandchildren, Haley Christian Davis, Heidi Ann Davis, Morgan Davis, May Elizabeth Ambrose, Parker Ambrose, Jackson Ambrose and Rayland Ambrose; and one brother, Wallace Glasscock and wife Anna of Clarksville.

One son, Roy Allen Davis, three sisters and four brothers, preceded her in death.

A funeral was held Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
