Ernell Clifford Chalmers

Emell Clifford “Mellow” Chalmers, 52, of West Forest Drive, South Boston, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, on June 23, 1965, son of Standfield Plenty Chalmers Sr. and Willie Mae Pinckney Chalmers. He was a member of Rock of Salvation Apostolic Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chalmers is survived by one daughter, Marcia Chalmers of Philadelphia, one son; six brothers, Standfield Chalmers Jr. (Toni), Jessie Chalmers Sr. and Carlton Chalmers, all of South Boston, Lorenzo Chalmers Sr. (Tamara) of Philadelphia, David Chalmers Sr. (Nadine) and Jackey Chalmers (Darlena), all of Halifax; five aunts, one uncle, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death one sister, Nieoker Chalmers.

A funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 29, 11 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop David Chalmers Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Thursday, Dec. 28 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 201 West Forest Drive, South Boston.
