Eula Belle Matthews Blanks

Eula Belle Matthews Blanks, widow of David Edward Blanks, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born in Granville County, N.C., on June 12, 1930 to the late Leslie Williamson and Herbert Matthews. Mrs. Blanks retired from Burlington Industries after 36 years of employment. She was a member of Stovall United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Blanks is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold Edward and Wanda Blanks of Providence, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Doug Tingen of Bullock, N.C., Linda and Dale Morris of Berea, N.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Amanda Morris, Kimberly Beam, and Jason Tingen; five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ralph Matthews of Bullock and sisters, Mary Edwards and Dorothy Little, also of Bullock.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blanks was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert Matthews Jr., Robert Lee Matthews, James B. Matthews and John Matthews, grandson, Douglas Keith Tingen II and step-grandsons, Scotty Morris and Barry Morris.

A funeral was held Tuesday, April 18, at 4 p.m. at Stovall United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Yount officiating. Interment followed at the Royster Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for friends and family Monday, April 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Stovall United Methodist Church.
