Eva Sally H. Womack, 95, of Halifax, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. She was born in Halifax County on Sept. 21, 1926, daughter of the late William Garland Hodges and Lula Chappell Hodges. She was first married to the late Wilson Carrington and later married Raleigh Womack. She was a member of New Hope Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and a retired employee of ABB.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Womack is survived by two sons, Roger T. Carrington (Vernesta) and Michael R. Carrington (Michele); six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one daughter-in-law, Gladys L. Frierson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two children, Frances L. Carrington and Woodrow W. Carrington (Mary) and seven siblings.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Blanche Stewart conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required. A limit of 50 people will be allowed at the service.
