Eva Shackelford Firth / July 10, 2017

Eva Shackelford Firth died Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 68. Born in Poquoson, Oct. 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Shackelford, Sr. and the late Corleda Merl Firth and was married to George Edward Firth Jr. for 49 years.

Eva was a member of Victory Christian Center in Poquoson. After 27 years of service as a bookkeeper with the treasurer’s office in Hampton, she retired to Alton to enjoy the good life.

Survivors include her husband, George; sons, Robert E. Firth (Amy) and Neil W. Firth (Lucy “Lulu”); grandchildren, Thomas and Casey Firth; eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved companion, Pretty Girl.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with Rev. Bruce Featherston presiding. The family will receive friends at the home, 1185 Hendricks Lane, Alton.
