Evelyn Hatcher Stuart died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at the age of 91. Born in Halifax County on Oct. 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles Herbert Hatcher and the late Hycatha Cole Hatcher and was married to the late John Elliott Stuart.

She was a member of McCanless Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include nephews, Marshall Stinnett of Buchanan, and Charles “Chuck” Herbert Hatcher III of Roanoke, Vernon E. Stuart, Henry C. Stuart, and Christopher Stuart; a niece, Lyn Stuart Hart; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. at Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 9 from 4-6 p.m.
