Fannie Christine Perkins

Fannie Christine Perkins, 97, of Nathalie, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at MeadowView Terrace, Clarksville. She was born in Halifax County on March 4, 1917, a daughter of the late Thomas Columbus Perkins and Hattie Ewell Perkins and was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church.

Ms. Perkins is survived by devoted nieces and nephews, Joanne Malone and husband Jimmy, Lillie Clark, Richard White and wife Madge, Barbara Dickerson and husband James, Juanita Barksdale and husband Alvin, Mary Clark, Corrine Stovall, Willie M. Jones, John Williams and wife Georgette, Keith, Derrick, Kevin, Shiela Williams, Doris and Joyce Traynham, Deborah Bradley, Thelma Bailey, Earl Perkins, Henry Perkins and wife Paulette, Loretta Appleton and Thomas Perkins, Jr.; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Henry, Herman, Lawrence, Meadie, Thomas and Algie Perkins, seven sisters Mary S. Dunkley, Emma Poindexter, Hamely White, Lanter Traynham, Lena Traynham, Elizabeth Parker and Myrtle Williams.

A funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 24 at noon at Crystal Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Louis S. Leigh officiating and Rev. David Clark eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be on Thursday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
