Faye Moore Weston, widow of Meredith Clarence “Doc” Weston, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at the age of 78. She was born on Sept. 19, 1939 in Oakville, to the late Marjorie Martin and Louis Moore. Prior to marriage, Faye worked at General Electric in Lynchburg. After meeting and marrying “Doc”, she moved to Red Oak. As “Doc” worked in the shop, Faye, who loved the outdoors, worked in the tobacco fields. She enjoyed watching classic television reruns, doing word search puzzles, gospel music and spoiling her dog.

Faye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet Weston and Carl Elliott of Bullock, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Anne Moore of Appomattox; sisters Sue Campbell, Jessalyn Burcher, both of Appomattox and Eva Moore of Mineral; special friends Cliff and Betty Elliott of Bullock, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Becky Covington and Margueritte Jordan.

A graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak.

The family received friends two hours prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. The Rev. Rodney Barwick will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Antioch Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
