Foy Mae Keeton Shearin

Foy Mae Keeton Shearin, 86, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Granville Medical Center.


A native of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Keeton and Carrie Inez Tillotson. She was a member of Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from Burlington Mills in Clarksville.

Surviving are two sons; Jesse James Shearin of Bullock and Harvey Wayne Shearin (Patricia) of Oxford, N.C., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, three sisters; Janet Cash of Stovall, Joan Newton of Bullock and Judy Sue Priode of Gray Rock, and a brother; Marvin “Peter” Keeton of Townsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Jessie Lee Shearin Jr.


A funeral was held Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev. Diana Bobbitt. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.


Visitation was held Saturday, March 21, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Marrows Chapel United Methodist Church and at other times at the home.
