Geraldine Wilborn Redd

Geraldine Wilborn Redd, 72, of 418 Summit Drive, South Boston died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Sept. 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Rev. James Richard Wilborn and Mary Magdeline Thomas Wilborn and was married to Charlie Elton Redd.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Amy R. Cole, Teresa R. Lowery, Mary R. Bowes and husband Donald and Rhonda R. Powell and husband Anthony, all of South Boston; one son, Randy E. Redd of South Boston; one sister, Ida Mae Trickey of South Boston; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and special family friend, Peggy Tetlak. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home.
