Gladys Virginia H. Philpott

Mrs. Gladys Virginia Holsinger Philpott of 2179 Wolf Trap Road South Boston died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 99. She was born in Halifax County on October 16, 1919 and was a retired clerk of the American Automobile Association and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Philpott is survived by a sister, Edith Holsinger of South Boston, a granddaughter, Sharon Williamson, two great grandchildren, Kelli DeRoy and Traci Williamson and two great great grandchildren, John Hunter DeRoy and Jacob Hunter DeRoy and a daughter-in-law, Mary Philpott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Raines Philpott, a son, John Averett Philpott, her father, John Geil Holsinger and her mother, Lydie Lilean Beam Holsinger, two sisters, Rhoda May and Stella Clara Holsinger and a brother, Floyd Holsinger.

Graveside services for Mrs. Philpott will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19 at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Allen Mahan officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 2179 Wolftrap Road, South Boston. On-line condolences may be made at http://www.brooksfhinc.com.
