Grace Lutitia Boswell Hatcher

Grace Lutitia Boswell Hatcher, 81, of Chase City, died July 12, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Hatcher was born in Lunenburg County on July 15, 1928 to the late Herman and Frances Brown Boswell. She was a member of Silone Baptist Church, where she served on the Willing Workers Club, Missionary Circle and the chairperson of the Welfare Committee. She was an employee of Jonbil and Hampco Apparel for numerous years, later becoming an in-home-care companion and in August 1994 she became a cafeteria worker at Chase City Elementary School.

Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Hatcher.

Cherishing her memories are four daughters, Iris H. Hart of Gainesville, FL, Brenda Hatcher, Irma Hatcher-Lee and Greta Boyd (Reggie) all of Chase City; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Loretta Tisdale, Pearl Bannister (Willie Lee) of Richmond, Lois Hawthorne (Sydnor) of Baltimore, Md. and Nancy Monroe (Jackie) of Newtonsville, N.J.; two brothers, Theodore Boswell (Otelia) of Richmond and Leroy Boswell of Baltimore, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A funeral for Mrs. Hatcher will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City.

Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
