Harold Elmo Spencer

Mr. Harold Elmo Spencer passed away at his home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on June 21, 1941 to the late Howard Elmo Spencer and the late Hazel Reaves Spencer and was married to Lynda Owen Spencer.

Harold was retired from the United States Postal Service with 23 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the local American Legion Post 8. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and singing and was a member of Dan River Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Lynda, he is survived by a daughter, Natalie S. Torrence and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Preston Spencer Seamons and Lleyton Isaac Burkholder; sister, Brenda McPeters and husband Larry; a niece, Amy; and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 17, 2:00 p.m. at Dan River Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Wooten and Rev. Don Bryant officiating. Due to COVID restrictions, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday, February 16 from noon-7:00 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
