Harold W. “Hank” Hamlett

Harold W. “Hank” Hamlett of 7052 River Road, South Boston died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at his home. Born in Charlotte County on July 1, 1952, he was a carpenter and an employee of Norfolk & Southern Railway.

Mr. Hamlett is survived by his wife, Deloris Overby Hamlett of the home, his mother, Alma Ratliff Anderson of South Boston, three daughters, Rocki Elania Hamlett, also of South Boston, Donna H. LaBone and husband, Michael of Chase City and Beth Ralston of Virgilina and two sons, Harold W. Hamlette Jr. of Apex, N.C. and Stacy Hamlett of Wake Forest, N.C., a granddaughter, Brandi Lawrence and a grandson, Joshua Lawrence. Also surviving are three brothers, Paul Hamlett and wife Janet of Chase City, Tyree Hamlett and wife Frances of Farmville and Floyd Hamlett and wife Brenda of Chase City and two sisters, Mary Lou Toombs and husband Ray of Drakes Branch and Margaret Miller of Chase City. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Hamlett and a brother, David Hamlett.

A graveside service for Mr. Hamlett will be conducted today, March 14 at 2 p.m. at Hitesburg Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Mike Riley and the Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the home.
