Hazel H. Wimbish, 77, of Scottsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at her home. She was born in Saxe on Feb. 4, 1943, daughter of Laverne Drew Hill and was married to the late James Wimbish. She joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak.

Mrs. Wimbish is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Terry of Scottsburg and Patricia McCargo of Somerset, N.J.; one son, Philip McCargo (Natalie) of Beaver Falls, Pa.; one stepson, James Edward Wimbish Jr. (Etta) of Gordonsville; one stepdaughter, Debra Jagger of Java; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her mother, LaVerne Hill of Williamsburg; three sisters, Amanda Hill-Dandridge, Shetton and Frederica Hill; four brothers, Reuben Hill, Wilbert Hill Sr. (Doretta), Sherwood Hill and Frederick Hill; five brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax. Burial will be held Monday, Sept. 14 at Highland Burial Park, Danville.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, a face mask will be required and seating may be limited due to social distancing requirements.

Public viewing was held Friday at The Crawford House Chapel from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
