Se was born on Jan. 11, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, to the late Lucious and Emma Harris.
She is survived by her husband Harold Carter Sr.; her son William Randolph (Randy) Carter and his wife, Carolyn of South Hill, three daughters, Bonnie Carter Kaplan and her husband, Emil of Wake Forest, N.C., Mary Etta Dickerson and her husband, Brent of Chase City, and Leslie Dianne Tyree and her husband, Charlie of Roanoke, nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Davis of Boydton, her special friend, Patricia Hamby; and numerous close relatives and loved ones.
She is predeceased by her son Harold Carter Jr.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Baskerville.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home.
