She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Henry Ellis Sadler and Daisy Lowery Sadler and was married to the late William Aaron Owen.
She was a homemaker and a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, James E. Owen and wife Ann of Julian, N.C.; one sister, Myrtle Ray of Buffalo Junction; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas Owen.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 1 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating.
