Hilda B. Koch, 78 of Cairo, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. Born in Keysville on October 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ott Baxter and Wilda Morton Baxter Ivey. She was married to Donald E. Koch, who survives and with whom she worked at Koch’s Shell Service Station before her retirement. She was a 1950 graduate of C.H. Friend High School and worked in Roses of South Boston, Coble Dairy in Riverdale and a bank in Clarksville. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Cairo.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Karen and husband, Troy Jones of Miller City, Lisa Koch of Paducah, Kentucky, Donna Mattera of Springfield, Ill. and Lori and husband, Jerry Bennett of Thebes, a son, Tim and his wife, Tiffany Koch of Olive Branch, one sister, Frances Lee Orrell of South Boston and eight grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, R.E. Ivey, Jr. and one son, Donald E. Koch II.

A funeral mass for Mrs. Koch was conducted on Monday, May 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cairo with the Rev. Fr. John Agbasiera as celebrant. Interment followed in Calvary cemetery at Villa Ridge.
