Hubbard Marshall Wooding, 74, of 109 Rolling Road, Burlington, N.C. died at Alamance Health Care Center on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011. A native of Halifax County, he was the husband of Frances E. Wooding, who survives and the son of Hubbard Marshall Wooding Sr. and Pearl Barksdale Wooding, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Copland Fabrics. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Thornton Wooding and wife Teresa of Burlington, a daughter, Margaret W. Gleason and husband, Russell of McLeansville, a brother, Louis R. Wooding of Merritt Island, Fla., and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Wooding Adams.

The family received friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday, and at other times they will be at the residence of his son, Thornton Wooding, 309 Lenox Place, Burlington.

A memorial service will be held in South Boston at a later date.
