Inez Boswell Gregory

Inez B. Gregory, a homemaker, was born on June 2, 1917 to the late Guy and Mearlie Boswell in Mecklenburg County. She departed this life Sept. 7, 2013 at the Meadowview Terrace.

She attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Early in life she accepted Christ and joined the Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she was an active and faithful member. On Nov. 14, 1936 she married Rev. Harrison Gregory and to this union five children were born. She was active in many phases of the church program especially the Missionary Circle. We will always remember her as a loving devoted mother, a good friend and a child of God. She will be missed by all especially those who are closest to her:

Three daughters Merlene Pernell (Timothy) of Newark, N.J., Margaret Moody (Fountain – deceased), Marjorie Banks (McKenzie) Charlotte, N.C.; two sons Rufus E. Gregory (Nancy-deceased) of Charlotte, N.C. and Harrison of Garrison; two sisters-in-law Marie Boswell and Onethia Boswell of Clarksville, 27 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Wednesday Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church No.1 in Clarksville.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Carter’s Funeral Home.
