Irene Dodson Gordon, 92, of Richmond, and formerly of Chase City, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Parham Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Gordon was born in Mecklenburg County, April 24, 1925 to the late George W. and Fannie Betty Dodson. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, and furthered her education at Virginia Union University.

Mrs. Gordon was a member of Concord Baptist Church, and was a former employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Vernell Gordon of Henrico, and Regina Gordon-Couch (Ray) of Sandston, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leola Wood and Henrietta Weddington both of Chase City, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gordon; two children, Alice and Raymond, Jr.; two brothers, William and Charles Dodson, and one sister, Beulah Dodson Sallie.

A funeral was held Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Concord Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. with Elder Kenyatta Evans officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
