James Carlton Wade

James Carlton ‘Rounder’ Wade of Richardson Lane, Alton died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 71. He was born in Halifax County on Jan. 4, 1942 to the late Carlton Wade and Edna Cunningham Wade.

Mr. Wade is survived by a sister, Luetta Scott of the home, two brothers, John Wade and wife Eleanor of South Boston and Arthur Wade and wife, Clarissa of Mount Vernon, N.Y., 11 nieces, eight nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wade and four sisters, Leona Chavious. Florell Oliver, Mary Bauldwin and Gladys Richardson.

A funeral will be held Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. at the Crawford House Chapel in Halifax.

The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1151 Richardson Lane, Alton. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday at Jeffress Funeral Home from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
