In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by one daughter, Roxann Majors of Halifax; one granddaughter, Dominique Majors; three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; his mother, Rosa T. Kirby of Halifax; his father, James Pannell Sr. of Nathalie; three sisters, Georgia Lovelace of Halifax, Janet Gregory and Linda Berger, both of South Boston; four brothers, Chester Pannell and Waverly Pannell, both of South Boston, Bruce Pannell of Halifax and Charles Pannell of Brookneal; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Brenda Pannell and Walter “Red” Edmunds.
A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at Republican Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Lorenza S. Otey officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main Street, South Boston.
