James Garland “Jim” Jones, 84, of Skipwith, died Thursday, June 6, 2019.  Jim was a US Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 43, a retired farmer, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Mark Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 2526 New Hope Road, Skipwith, VA 23968, or Chase City Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 81, Chase City, VA 23924.
