James Thomas Wilmouth / May 28, 2018

James Thomas Wilmouth of South Boston, and formerly of South Hill, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Durham Veterans Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on Jan. 5, 1944 and was 74 years old. He was the son of the late William Craddock Wilmouth Sr. and Edna Hodnett Ragsdale. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He also was a retired real estate agent.

Mr. Wilmouth is survived by three sisters, Kitty W. Burgess and husband Wilton of Lynchburg, Jean W. Wilborn and husband Bobby of South Boston, Shirley W. Green of South Boston and one brother, William Craddock Wilmouth Jr. of Bedford. He also is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Daryl and Leah Burgess, Todd and Michelle Burgess, Dean and D’Lynn Burgess, William and Mary Ann Wilmouth, Jimmy and Elizabeth Wilmouth, Maria and Brian Swyhart, Amy and Roger Rice, Donna Green Garrett, and Charles Green.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Lloyd Wilmouth

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
