Janet Lee Cranford died Friday, June 29, 2018 at the age of 61. She was born on June 21, 1956 in South Boston to Margaret Scott Cranford and the late Clifton Floyd Cranford. Janet was a Class of 1974 graduate of Halifax County High School. She worked as an insurance office secretary and was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.

Janet is survived by her mother, Margaret Cranford of Buffalo Junction, niece Margaret Anne Carlisle-Cranford of South Boston, nephew John Carrington Cranford and his wife, Joanie of Virgilina and great nephews, Ashton and Colby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Cranford and a brother, Kenneth Alan Cranford.

A funeral will be held Monday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joey Tucker will officiate. The family received friends Sunday, July 1 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.
