Jerry Norris Dalton, 72 of Roanoke, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, from complications due to Inclusion Body Myositis.

Jerry was the youngest of five children, born March 30, 1945 to John Lacy Dalton and Tena Blanks Dalton in Mecklenburg County. Jerry was a faithful member of Bonsack Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Diana Frazier Dalton, a daughter, Kimberly Frazier Gatrell (Alan) of Oxford, N.C., two sons, David Norris Dalton (Deirdre O’Connor) of Charlottesville and Jonathan Trent Dalton (Catrina Belt) of Sterling, and five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Bobbie Ray, Maynard, and Gene and his sister Nell Smith of Colonial Heights.

A funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 18 at Bonsack Baptist Church in Roanoke. A graveside service was held at Bethel Baptist Church in Chase City later that day.

The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 18 one hour prior to the funeral at Bonsack Baptist Church.
