Jewel Cobbs Lee, 93, of Webster Street, South Boston died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on April 15, 1924, daughter of the late Maggie Lewis Cobbs. She was married to the late Herman E. Lee, Sr. and was a member of Peaceful Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cobbs is survived by one son, Herman Lee Jr. of South Boston; four daughters, Mary Ann McCook of Bronx, N.Y., Myrtle Lee, Delois Lee and Gladys Lee, all of Maryland; 17 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Leo Hendren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Lee Hendren and one sister, Annie M. Lee.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Stamps officiating. The family received friends at the service Saturday.
