Jimmy Lee Cheatham Jr., 61, of Chase City, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.

Mr. Cheatham was born in Mecklenburg County, Oct. 21, 1958 to Mammie Lee Penick Cheatham and the late Jimmy Lee Cheatham Sr. He attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Butler’s Wood Crafters.

Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mattie Walker Cheatham of Chase City, three sons, Azablon, Javonte and Kevin Cheatham all of Chase City, his mother, Mammie Lee Penick Cheatham; brother, Alfred Cheatham; two aunts, four uncles; devoted friends, Jerry Smith and George Taylor, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Shirley Cheatham, four aunts, and two nieces, Felicia Walker and Teresa Boyd Cheatham.

A funeral was held Saturday, May 16, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, with Rev. Raleigh M. Bagley III officiating. Interment was private.
