John Lewis Jackson of Halifax County died Monday, Oct. 4 at the age of 29.

Mr. Jackson was born on July 17, 1992 in Halifax County to James Reed and Virley Sims Reed. He was employed by ABB and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his parents, James Reed and Virley Reed, both of Vernon Hill; his sister Monica Womack of Vernon Hill; his brother Joshua of Georgia; his girlfriend, T’Conya Morris of Nathalie, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Martha Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery in Vernon Hill.

Public viewing will be on Tuesday at Jeffress Funeral Home from noon-6 p.m. Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required. A limit of 50 people will be allowed at the service.
