John W. “Johnny” Pope, age 91 of 388 Brownville Height Lane, Java entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Berry Hill Health & Rehab Center, South Boston.

Mr. Pope is survived by six children, Janie Luck (William) of Nathalie, William H. Polk, Temple Hill, Md., John Lester (Patricia), Chatham, Rev. Edward Lee (Pearl) Hurt, Joseph DeVon (Sharon), Bowie, Md., and Barbara Jones (Alonzo), Chesterfield and a host of family and friends.

A funeral for Mr. Pope will be conducted on Saturday, April 9 at noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Java with Pastor Delano Medley officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the home of the deceased, 388 Brownville Height Lane, Java.
