Johnny Preston Faulkner, 75, of Virginia Beach, formerly of South Boston, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Sentara Dayside Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on October 30, 1934, a son of the late Cassie Faulkner and was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Joby Terry of Halifax and Cassie Faulkner of Newport News; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Faulkner of South Boston; one sister, Rosetta Watson of South Boston; one son-in-law, Aubrey Terry, one sister-in-law, Helen Faulkner, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Brooks and Nancy Edmondson, three brothers, John Henry Paniel, Wayne Paniel and Nick Paniel and one brother-in-law, Howard Edmondson.

A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at The Crawford House, Halifax with Rev. Hallie Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2214 Bethel Road, Halifax with viewing today from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
