Joseph Harrison Williams of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Halifax County, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his residence at the age of 55. Born in Halifax County on Jan. 26, 1958 to the late Issac Williams and Adell W. Williams, he was married to Deborah Respass Williams. He was a member of First Baptist Church of News Ferry.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of the home, two daughters, JoAnn Leslie Williams and Kesha Nicole Williams, both of Oxford, N.C., a grandson, Issac A. Reed, a sister, Maxine Crews and husband, James of South Boston, two brothers, James Williams and wife, Josephine of Halifax, and Louis Williams and wife, Rosetta of South Boston, his mother-in-law, Alice Respass of Rock Hill, S.C., a brother-in-law, Norman Respass of Charlotte, N.C., and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral was held Saturday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of News Ferry. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
