Judy Gilliam Pennell, age 70, of Skipwith, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was born Nov. 9, 1947 in Wise County, to the late Elmer Gilliam and the late Reba Trent Gilliam. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chase City and former employee of Burlington Industries.

Judy is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Pennell Foreman and husband, John of Henderson, N.C., and Joni Pennell Newcomb and husband, Anthony of Skipwith, four granddaughters, Rebecca Danielle Foreman, Jessica Hope Foreman, Autumn Nicole Pennell, and Kendall Sierra Newcomb; numerous nieces and nephews; and devoted friends, Tammy and Elic Trent.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Monroe Pennell and two sisters, Shirl Palmatier and Betty Stidham.

A funeral was held Saturday, June 30, at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City.

Visitation was held Friday, June 29, at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home.
