Born on Sept. 19, 1955 in Farmville, to Ellison Edmond Rush Jr. and Cynthia Ferguson Rush.
She is survived by her husband, David Dzula; one son, Joseph Ellison Balbaugh of New York, one daughter, Chrystal Dawn Lewis and her husband Jimmy of Colonial Heights, three sisters, Betsy Rush of Wylliesburg, Cristy Wallace of Boydton, and Alison Waymer of Oxford, N.C., and four grandchildren, William Robert Taylor, James Lewis, Nicholas Lewis and Dalton Lewis.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. at Wylliesburg Baptist Church with Rev. George Vaughan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.
Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
