Larry Vest Williamson, husband of Margie Jones Williamson, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at the age of 73. He was born in Mecklenburg County on Feb. 8, 1946, the son of the late Cleveland Vest and Ethel Gertrude Glasscock

Williamson. Larry was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School. He retired from Burlington Industries after 38 years of employment and worked an additional 14 years with Halifax Regional Hospital as the carrier and supply manager. Larry was a member at Nelson Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 37 years, Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Chris Hogan; granddaughter, Samantha Ann Hogan; and his sisters, Lavern Blankenship (Wayne) of Chase City, Bonnie Lamb of Dandridge, Tenn., and Sybil Robertson of Charlottesville.

A funeral was held Sunday, Aug. 11, at Nelson Baptist Church, burial followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Don Wilson officiated.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
