He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II. He owned and operated a barber/styling salon in South Boston for more than 35 years. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vivian Newcomb Harmon of York, his son, David L. Harmon of North Carolina, a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara H. and Marshall F. Coyle of York, and three grandchildren, Stephanie R. Harmon of Richmond, Janalee H. and Scott S. Coyle of York. A funeral for Mr. Harmon will be held Monday, March 28 at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Rigg conducting the service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge cemetery.
