Leroy Stovall of Alphonse Dairy Road, South Boston died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace at the age of 80. Mr. Stovall was born in Halifax County on April 23, 1937 to the late Roy Pete Stovall and Ethel Mae Wilkerson Stovall. He was married to Christine Chandler Stovall and was a member of Dan River View Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Stovall was employed at ABB as a welder in the Tank Shop until he retired. Mr. Stovall is survived by his wife, Christine C. Stovall of the home; a daughter, Vanessa Lovelace and husband Garry of Egg Harbor, N.J., a son, Cedric Maurice Stovall and wife Cynthia of South Boston; four grandchildren, Kristina Lovelace, Morgan Lovelace, Lauren Lovelace (Maurice) and Cedric Sebastian Stovall; a sister, Anna Marie Stovall of Newport News; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two devoted nephews, Antonio Stovall and James Stovall; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Monday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at Jeter Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Nelson C. Stamps officiating. Burial will follow in Dan River View Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends was held Sunday, July 16 at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston. The family will receive friends at the residence, 1098 Alphonse Dairy Road, South Boston. Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main Street. |
