Obituaries Letha Alexander MarableSoVaNow.com / July 14, 2010
Miss Marable was born in Lunenburg County on Jan. 5, 1930 to the late Willie A. and Mary E. Thompson. She attended the schools of Lunenburg County and was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch. At Mount Mitchell she served as an usher and a member of the missionary society. Miss Marable was a former employee of John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. Cherishing her memories are two sisters, Ruby M. Johnson of Mount Vernon, N.Y. and Elloise M. Callahan of Victoria; one sister-in-law, Barbara G. Marable and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Miss Marable was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. A funeral for Miss Marable was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch with Rev. Fran S. Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Marable Family Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
